Profile photo advice and tips

While we can't guarantee that your picture's worth a thousand words, we are quite certain that adding a photo your profile will dramatically increase the number of responses that you receive. You may even be featured on the front page of the site, and there's no better way to ensure good response rates than that!

However you get your photos, it's very important that you have good quality photos in order to attract matches and especially your soul mate. To help you make your profile photos stand out amongst the other singles on your internet dating site, we've put together some online dating photo advice to get you started.

  • 1. Is the image of you clear? Does it do you justice and show you off at your best? A small clear picture is far better than a large picture with little detail. For your primary photo, be sure to have a head and shoulder photo.
  • 2. Is your photo too small and you are planning to enlarge it? Be careful - the quality can deteriorate remarkably.
  • 3. Does your photo include other people? Rather consider photos only of yourself.
  • 4. Does the photo have unnecessary people (the ex boyfriend), items or empty space in it? Try to crop or cut your photo to get rid of these.
  • 5. Is your photo the right way up? If not, rotate it!
